Consistency:
1. steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
2. the condition of cohering or holding together and retaining form; solidity or firmness.
3. keeping a 2 year old blog just to have the same blog.
Change:
1. to become different
2. (of the moon) to pass from one phase to another.
3. to embrace a new blog that marks the new stage of life.
I even changed it up a bit... made it purdy.
But I have to embrace the new.
It's almost like moving. New place, new hair.
I'm not planning on cutting my hair though. I chopped it in late December and I'm enjoying it while it grows back.
I might be back every once in a while. just for kicks. just for a release. but that's what we all said with xanga. (wow throwback!)
Blogspot friends, you're great! Until I figure out how to follow you via tumblr, I'll be around and read about your lives via here.
My new home of words is here.
I've loved blogspot and I've finally gotten used to it all. but the grown up thing to do is to not try and keep up both. but just one. I'm trying to learn to be decisive.
and now I will bid you all Adeus
Auf Wiedersehen
Arrivederci
Au Revoir
Adios
(I didn't realize how many "goodbye"s started with "A")
See you later
na razie

Can't sleep...
Poland is on my mind.
Surprised? Me neither.
I hate it when the devil is THE DEVIL. When he can make you second guess yourself. He can make you think you're doing it wrong. He can make you think all is for not. He can make others doubt.
I've been talking with some family members, all who 100% support me but are just trying to be that "voice of reason". I appreciate them! I love them! But sometimes, faith just has to talk for itself. I have faith that money will come in. I know that God put me in this position. Each time I've started to doubt, God put someone or something else in front of me to let me know He'll take care of me. Once, it was a friend saying they'll support me $200 when she is a self-proclaimed "budget natzi". Another time, it was just a co-worker coming up to me telling me to be bold and courageous and expect God to show up! I hate when the devil can make doubters out of even the strongest of believers.
I know the moment I recognize this... and start to push against this... the devil will just try and get to me another way. It's just the beginning. It's not the first and not the last.
A friend Twittered this and I love it..."The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deepest hunger meet" - F. Buechner
Right now, I'm happy in Louisville! Right now, God is calling me here. I know that soon will be my time to be in Poland! (my deep gladness) I can NOT wait :) I am content here now becuase I know God is teaching me everyday! He's teaching me vital things I'll need to know in Poland! Right now, my mission field is Kentucky. In 23ish days, it'll be POLAND! In 31 days, it'll be Louisville again.
All I know is I have my faith. I know that in all of this, God will be glorified! Some days I'll be distracted by this world. Some days Satan will get to me. But I know I'm nothing without God. I know this is all for Him. Even if all this is just a lesson of patience, boldness, confidence, trust and faith... and the $1,700 doesn't get raised... it won't be for not. He will have taught me a huge lesson! And I'll just continue to prepare for September where I'll try again till God closes a door.
Here's my need...
March is $1,700.
PROeM 12910 Shelbyville Rd., Suite 200, Louisville KY 40243.
My idea is to start fundraising for September, and the first $1,700 will come out for the trip in March. It's all through PROeM and will be all the same account. September's need is about $1,000 a month pledged.
Thanks for keeping my journey in your prayers! It can get crazy, distracting, and down right blaaa! But I'm seeking first the Kingdom. Can't go wrong there :)
If God is for us, who can be against us?? Romans 8:31
I should rest in that answer :)

My turn :)
Happy February! It’s crazy that it is already the second month of 2010! On the 12th, I will have been living here in the Louisville area for two years. Sometimes it feels shorter, sometimes it feels like I’ve been here much longer. I’ve learned a lot while in the eastern time zone; both good and bad. I’ve learned patience when I wanted things to go faster. I’ve learned patience when it snowed in Kansas but not in Kentucky. I’ve learned to trust and rely and fully depend on God when there is really nothing I can do. I’ve learned how to trust that God has everything, including my mom and her cancer, in His hands. I’ve learned how to take that approach and turn it around into smaller things. I’ve learned how to be content where God has me… and actually be content. Well, I’m still working on that one. One more thing I’ve known but have gotten a better picture since being here is my view of “home.”
I have multiple homes. I consider Kansas City my first home. That is where my family and age 5-18 memories happened. That is where my family lives now. Manhattan, Kansas, and Louisville are tied for third. I was born in Manhattan, then returned there for college. Living in Louisville for two years has been amazing and very growing years! I’ve loved every minute of it! I know you’re thinking, “Julie, you missed home #2.” I was saving that one for last. If you know me at all, I think you know where this is going…
Poland. I have to take a deep breath just writing it so as not to be overwhelmed with emotions. Living and working here has provided me multiple opportunities to go and visit other countries. Central Asia, Ethiopia twice, Romania, and Poland again. Each place I visited was amazing and God was working in specific ways. But at the same time, in each place, God was showing me that I belong with the Polish people. In Poland, I also have family. In Poland, I learned valuable lessons. In Poland, I learned how to be content and comfortable on another continent. I could try and put how I feel about Poland in this letter but it wouldn’t be possible. There aren’t enough words, not enough paper and you probably don't have enough time. I could go on for days about the people and their passions. I could also go on for days about what PROeM is doing about it. I could talk your ear off about how I want to help.
This letter is just that. I want to share with you all that I do get to go and help! God has opened doors, (and in some instances, flat out told me I was going) and plans are in the making! There is a group of 13 college/young adult-aged friends from Southeast Christian Church (my home church in Louisville) going to Poland March 12-19. I am going, to help me get ready for when I move to Tomaszow in September. That’s right!! God gave me the go-ahead. It’s my turn to go back! I’m planning on moving mid- to late-September. I've committed to a year. After six to nine months, we will re-evaluate the situation. Does it make sense financially? Do they still need me there? If so, I will re-commit for another year. If not, I will return to the States. I would love to stay for three or four years, if possible!
I will be teaching English and in the preschool and helping with communication between American churches and PROeM. Also, I will be helping with the church plant in Lodz, and helping the staff of PROeM so they can do the ministry they were called to do. I'll do the office work so they can minister. I want to help enable them to do their jobs more effectively!
In order to go in March, I need to raise $1,700 by February 26. In order to move in September, I need to raise pledges of support totaling about $1,000 a month. I also will need money for a plane ticket, apartment start-up costs and a Temporary Residency Visa. I am raising funds through PROeM, so all the funds can go in the same account. If the $1,700 is raised, a check will be sent to Southeast to pay my way. If not enough is raised or more than enough is raised the remaining funds will start growing toward my big move in September. You can send checks to: PROeM 12910 Shelbyville Rd., Suite 200, Louisville KY 40243. Please pray for my preparation, my journey and my transition into Poland.
Let me finish my “home” theme. I have four “homes,” but I only have one Home: my Heavenly Home. I see everything that I do here as a preparation for that capital “H” Home. It's all for His glory, all to bring Him praise. Right now I’m in one home, Louisville, preparing to move to another, Poland. But no matter where I am, which “home” I’m living in, I will be trying to bring as many people “Home to meet my Dad” as I can. Please keep PROeM in your prayers as they’re always under God’s care, but also under Satan’s attack. Pray that I can fit into their mold and help them minister to the Polish people. Pray for our short-term trip that we can be used effectively and can encourage the staff in the best way possible.
Thank you for going on this journey with me! I’ll keep you updated with this blog, but also a new one just for Poland updates:
